Job Title: Engineering Shift Supervisor

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are seeking an experienced Engineering Shift Supervisor to join our team in London.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the administration of Health and Safety and PTW systems is carried out correctly.
  • Maintain and keep the buildings' mechanical and electrical systems, along with associated component parts, in excellent working order.
  • Perform routine tests, checks, and record-keeping for all building systems using traditional methods and building analytics.
  • Manage water systems and maintain records to the highest standard in accordance with L8 Legislation, working alongside the designated Water Treatment Engineer.
  • Conduct regular walk-rounds of customer areas and plant rooms to identify and rectify defects, maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe environment.
  • Liaise with and arrange sub-contractor support, effectively managing and controlling all sub-contractors.
  • Monitor and adjust building systems, including BMS, lighting, and metering, as necessary.
  • Provide innovative solutions to improve building, plant, and system energy efficiency.
  • Manage, rectify, and record defects through the customer reporting system, working with and leading a team to ensure all issues are resolved within SLA timeframes.
  • Engage and update CBRE and customer stakeholders on all issues and progress.
  • Be flexible in attitude to work from both a skills diversification and a willingness to work overtime or out of normal working hours.
  • Provide cover for the opposite team when needed.
  • Complete incident notifications and updates in line with contract requirements.
Key Skills:
  • Technically qualified as an Engineer (City & Guilds, HNC, etc.).
  • C&G 236 parts 1 and 2 as a minimum if electrically biased.
  • Ability to communicate in an articulate manner both verbally and electronically.
  • Technical, professional, administrative, or good technical knowledge of building services systems and plant.
  • Knowledge of advanced BMS systems, predictive maintenance, and building analytics.
  • Knowledge of how assets and components operate and signify early signs of failure.
  • Experience with condition-based and predictive maintenance tools and techniques (desirable).
  • Previous shift leader or team management experience.
  • Working in a similar business-critical environment (desirable).
  • Building services experience or in a similar field (desirable).
  • Ability to work as a team and independently.
  • Takes ownership of issues and ensures completion.
  • Able to organize and manage own workload.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Excellent customer service understanding and skills.
  • Self-motivated with a drive to exceptional service.
  • Proactive individual.
  • Part of a team providing 24/7 site coverage.
  • Shift pattern split between four shift teams.
  • Provide out-of-hours call-out cover/escalation when required.
