Job Title: Engineering Shift Supervisor

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Shift Supervisor to join our team in London.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a shift-based team operating on a 24/7 basis, delivering high-calibre essential maintenance services within a designated section of our clients' property portfolio. The role will involve ensuring a speedy response to fault/breakdown requests, efficiently undertaking routine and scheduled maintenance of plant and/or equipment, and maintaining systems and assets in a data-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading the shift-based team and ensuring the delivery of high-quality maintenance services
  • Responding to fault/breakdown requests and undertaking routine and scheduled maintenance
  • Maintaining systems and assets in a data-driven environment
  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of the building, its layout, functions, and complexities
  • Undertaking supervisory roles, including team leadership, technical authority, and performance management
  • Liaising with client representatives and ensuring compliance with safety requirements
  • Preparing and taking responsibility for permit to work requests
  • Conducting quality checks on completed works
  • Acting as technical authority/lead for Shift Technicians
  • Monitoring BMS and other systems for running and alarm conditions
  • Coordinating staff in response to emergencies outside normal daytime operations
Requirements:
  • City & Guilds Electrical discipline competency, Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent apprenticeship
  • 18th Edition BS7671 wiring regulations
  • Willingness to become an HV Authorised Person and operate both HV 33kV and complex LV systems switchgear
  • Comprehensive building services knowledge in similar environments to a minimum of HVAC standards
  • Critical Environment Experience
  • Good Customer relationship skills
  • Working knowledge of 'Permit to work' systems
  • Understanding and interpreting technical drawings/processes
  • Good knowledge and awareness of the facilities management industry and the primary M&E services within the built environment
  • Practical experience in working with supply partners to deliver a seamless, integrated service
  • Customer services experience and the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Positive and proactive approach to work, able to work upon their own initiative and as part of a large account team
  • Able to change work pattern at short notice to meet the requirements of the client and building
  • Demonstrable ability to lead a team of multi-skilled engineers
  • Previous experience of managing people and HR management
  • Experience of successfully leading engineering tasks
  • Strong people management skills
  • Strong PC and technology skills, MS Office
