Job Title: Consultant Haematologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Haematologist to join our dynamic team at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our haematology department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a broad range of clinical and laboratory haematology skills, with experience in managing a full range of haematological conditions. You will be responsible for sharing inpatient responsibilities with other haematology consultants, participating in daily ward rounds, and supporting our well-established and diverse outpatients' service.

You will also be expected to participate in the on-call rota, providing advice and clinical help across hospital and community. The successful candidate will be encouraged and supported to develop their subspecialty interests and take lead roles in various elements of the service, such as cancer care, laboratory haematology, anticoagulation, obstetric haematology, and clinical governance.

Person Specification
  • GMC registered
  • MRCP or equivalent
  • FRCPath or equivalent
  • CCT or within 6 months of obtaining CCT by date of interview
  • Experience of working within the NHS
  • Broad exposure to all aspects of clinical and laboratory haematology
  • Experience of Clinical Audit, ability to supervise audit projects
  • Experience of teaching medical students and postgraduate medical trainees
