About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Consultant Haematologist to join our dynamic team at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our haematology department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Share inpatient responsibilities with other haematology consultants to cover daily ward rounds and provide in-reach services to wards.
  • Support a well-established and diverse outpatients' service, undertaking clinics at Royal Bolton Hospital and participating in a weekly sector-wide MDT with Bolton, Wigan, and Salford.
  • Contribute to the development of new services and expand existing ones, depending on your interests and expertise.
  • Participate in on-call rota, providing advice and clinical help across hospital and community.

Person Specification

We are looking for a Consultant Haematologist with:

  • GMC registration.
  • MRCP or equivalent.
  • FRCPath or equivalent.
  • CCT or within 6 months of obtaining CCT by date of interview.

Experience of working within the NHS, broad exposure to all aspects of clinical and laboratory haematology, and experience of clinical audit, teaching medical students, and postgraduate medical trainees are essential. A specialist interest in thrombosis/haemostasis or obstetric haematology and experience as a PI for clinical trials are desirable.
