Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Registered Nurse, Band 5- Trauma, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our trauma and orthopaedic clinics.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues, particularly in situations where patient ability to communicate is compromised.
  • Deliver safe care within a challenging and changing clinical environment, using equipment and resources safely and as appropriate.
  • Administer medication and treatment in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
  • Participate in mentorship and educational programs for students and other team members.
  • Support the department sisters in ensuring robust clinical practices amongst all staff.

Person Specification
  • Essential qualifications: degree-level education, NMC registration, post-registration development (Teaching and Assessing qualification), Plaster Course, Ponsetti.
  • Desirable qualifications: wide variety of general nursing skills relevant to different clinic sub-specialties, mentoring/facilitation/teaching/assessing and coaching, Plaster Room experience, promoting quality improvement initiatives.
