We are seeking an experienced Project Officer to join our Highways and Transport Service. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in translating our transport plans and strategies into reality, improving connectivity and encouraging travel by sustainable modes.

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of project management methodology and techniques, as well as some experience working in a transport planning or service role. They should be motivated to further develop their project management skills and knowledge of highways and transport service delivery.

As a Project Officer, you will be responsible for developing transport schemes and programmes of activity included in our plans, and progressing them into deliverable interventions. You will also support the coordination of developer funding secured for transport improvements through the planning process and manage the delivery of non-major transport schemes.

About the Role

  • Develop and implement project plans and ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Work closely with team members to ensure effective project coordination and management.
  • Manage project budgets and risks, and report on project progress.
  • Lead on stakeholder engagement and communication.

About You

  • You should have a good understanding of project management principles and practices.
  • Experience working in a transport planning or service role is essential.
  • You should be motivated to develop your project management skills and knowledge of transport service delivery.
