Job Overview

Falkirk Council is seeking a skilled and experienced Building Services Specialist to join its Facilities Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for conducting regular inspections of the Council's non-housing property portfolio to identify and instruct works to be carried out as part of planned or responsive repairs and maintenance programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of buildings to identify maintenance and repair needs
  • Develop and implement maintenance and repair plans to ensure the efficient operation of building services
  • Liaise with premises managers and technical staff to discuss repair works, budgets, and other relevant issues
  • Issue detailed repair instructions to contractors, supervise the completion of works, and check invoices prior to payment
  • Respond to emergency requests for ad-hoc repair works and arrange for remedial action to be taken

Requirements

  • Built environment or building services related HNC or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the commercial building services sector
  • Gas Safe registration, ideally with commercial installations additional module
  • Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects simultaneously and prepare regular progress reports
