About Us

The Confederation of Service Charities is a leading international charity that has been providing medical welfare support to the armed forces community for over 80 years. We support all members of the Armed Forces Community across the services, including serving personnel, reservists, veterans, and their family members/carers.

We are now recruiting for a full-time Welfare Officer (WO) to work closely with clinical teams across the NHS region, focusing on non-clinical issues that can negatively impact recovery and overall wellbeing. These issues may include mental health concerns, substance abuse, social isolation, inappropriate housing, homelessness, or financial worries.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Tackle non-clinical issues that can negatively impact recovery and overall wellbeing
  2. Work closely with clinical teams to provide comprehensive support
  3. Identify and address mental health concerns, substance abuse, social isolation, and other non-clinical issues
  4. Develop and maintain relationships with local third sector organisations to provide additional support to veterans and their families
  5. Provide enhanced support to veterans and their families, addressing their unique needs and challenges
