About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Store Manager to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. As a Store Manager, you will be responsible for the overall daily operations of your store, ensuring efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and line manage a team of Shift Leaders and colleagues, ensuring regular quality time is spent with them on shift.
  • Personally know all colleagues and understand how they feel about working in the store through talking and listening.
  • Lead and enable a culture where colleague experience is at the heart of everything we do.
  • Be curious and role model a self-serve culture, using available tools to resolve queries and encourage the team to do the same.
  • Lead a culture where we get the basics right first time, including ensuring colleagues are trained, have a warm welcome to One Stop, and are compliant in all aspects of pay and employment.
  • Look after the safety, health, and wellbeing of colleagues by supporting them to be at work.
  • Continually review the shape and capability of the team to ensure the workforce is future-fit.
  • Complete all people leadership tasks for the team, including absence management and solving problems.
  • Recognise the team's contribution and performance, celebrating with them regularly.
  • Understand the resource needs of the store, spotting and developing talent internally and externally recruiting the best people in the industry.
  • Manage all KPIs for the store, sharing ideas with other Store Managers to maximise growth and profitability.
  • Be responsible for the operation of all services in the store, including post office, local, EvRi, and vending.
  • Implement business changes and new ways of working in the store.
  • Ensure the store is resourced within the labour budget to remain open for trading and compliant.
  • Ensure customers in the store have a great shopping trip and that the business brings benefit to the local community through trusted partnerships.
  • Coach the team daily to deliver a great shopping trip and excellent retail store standards.
  • Continually review local competitor activity to understand threats and opportunities, turning insight into action.
  • Ensure customers and colleagues in the store go home safely every day by leading a robust health and safety culture.
  • Support the team with completing tasks such as serving customers, replenishing stock, and completing safe and legal routines.
  • Be the DPS/Premises holder and be responsible for the sale of all alcohol from the store.
