Job Title: SEMH Tutor

About the Role:

Prospero Teaching is looking for passionate SEMH Tutors to provide bespoke tuition packages on a 1:1 basis to young people with SEMH who cannot currently access mainstream education.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver engaging and innovative lesson plans to students with SEMH.
  2. Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  3. Be an advocate for children with SEMH, championing their rights and potential.

Requirements:

  1. Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and have experience working with children with SEND.
  2. Demonstrate empathy and inclusivity when working with diverse learning needs.
  3. Bring fresh ideas and innovative teaching methods to engage and motivate students.
  4. Collaborate effectively with colleagues and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  5. Be an advocate for children with SEND, championing their rights and potential.

Experience and Qualifications:

  1. QTS or equivalent.
  2. UK classroom teaching experience.
  3. PECS/Makaton training preferred but not essential.
  4. Experience working with challenging behavior and disengaged pupils.

Eligibility:

  1. Hold the right to work in the UK.
  2. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
  3. Provide two professional child-related references.
