We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced 2nd Chef to join our team at Telford Hall, a 66-bedded nursing home for older adults. As a 2nd Chef, you will play a key role in providing exceptional culinary standards to our residents, supporting the Head Chef and the rest of the catering team in delivering fresh, home-cooked meals from scratch.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Head Chef in managing the catering team and ensuring the highest possible culinary standards are maintained.
  • Deliver nutritious, well-balanced, and appetizing meals to residents, maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment.
  • Assist with controlling the catering budget and maintaining a hygienic and compliant working environment.
  • Support with all day-to-day aspects of the catering operation, including submitting food orders and undertaking necessary training.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in a busy kitchen environment.

  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize workloads.
  • Preferably NVQ level 2 in food hygiene.
