Job Title: Lead Educator

About the Role:

The Aspire Training Team is seeking a qualified and experienced individual to fill the role of Lead Educator. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting practitioners in meeting the needs of individual children and families.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Support practitioners in meeting the needs of individual children and families
  • Be a key person to a small group of children, planning and assessing their progress in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Ensure children's basic needs are always met, including good hygiene routines, nappies, meals, and sociable eating
  • Plan and carry out large group activities meeting the needs of individual children and working with their interests
  • Document the development of the children within your key group and share this with the parents/carers of the children within your group
  • Liaise with parents/carers daily
  • Set up a safe and stimulating environment for children, including packing away
  • Promote positive attitudes and behaviour at all times by providing a non-discriminatory environment that values and respects each child and family
  • Ensure an inclusive and safe environment, having regard for SEN and safeguarding procedures and legislation
  • Be committed to providing a play-based approach for children's learning
  • Follow the Early Years Foundation Stage framework in guidance with your practice with children
  • Be responsible for equipment and resources and report when resources are running low
  • Encourage parental involvement within the nursery, including parents' consultations, events, and using parents as partners in their child's learning

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Early Years Educator Qualification
  • GCSE's A*-C/4+ in English Language and Maths, or equivalent (i.e. functional skills)
  • Must obtain a clear DBS

Working Hours:

  • Blossom Lodge Day Nursery is open between the hours of 08:00-18:00 Monday-Friday
  • Working hours will be 44 hours per week across 4 longer days and 1 half day
