About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Developer to support existing projects and develop new cloud-based technologies. You will work closely with Lead Developers and colleagues across the Business Intelligence Team to provide technical advice and support, implement and improve processes and methodology, and manage your workload and that of the team.
Main Responsibilities- Design, implement, test, deploy, and support a range of Business Intelligence solutions.
- Design and improve ETL/ELT and Delta processing models.
- Develop and maintain effective data quality, integrity, validation, and monitoring processes.
- Debug and troubleshoot SQL and BI tools, systems, and software.
- Lead the design and development of SSIS packages and Azure Data Factory pipelines.
- Build and maintain data pipelines ensuring robustness, performance, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure security and data protection protocols are incorporated into solution designs.
- Contribute to upgrades, migrations, and enhancements of the data warehouse to new platforms and solutions.
- Explore and experiment with new technologies to improve existing designs, solutions, and platforms.
- Maintain solutions within source code repositories.
- Deploy solutions into a fully managed and maintained operational environment following appropriate release and change control.
- Fully document all reports and systems developed.
- Ensure compliance with current Information Governance regulations, particularly concerning the storage & processing of patient identifiable data.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve mutual goals and support a culture of development and improvement.
- Provide leadership and insight in solving complex issues and developing innovative solutions.
- Responsible for recruitment and selection of Graduates/Apprentices, providing management support and supervision as part of their development plan.
- Experience of working across a full range of Business Intelligence technologies, including the development of Azure or other cloud-based technologies, the full set of Microsoft Business Intelligence technologies, and working with Secondary Care (SUS) or other complex datasets.
- Ability to work without supervision, providing specialist advice across BI functions.
- Self-motivated, good self-management with an eye for detail and the ability to track issues and prioritize under pressure.
