Logistics Coordinator Job Description

KBM RESOURCING LTD is seeking a skilled Logistics Coordinator to manage and drive all aspects of logistics activities, ensuring efficient and accurate control of imports and exports, and ensuring customs compliance in respect of specific country legislation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain the company Scheduler to ensure accurate project updates and identify potential clashes in the asset fleet.
  • Develop load plans for breakbulk, out-of-gauge, and oversized cargo shipments, creating shipping documents including dangerous goods certificates in collaboration with the asset team.
  • Negotiate favourable rates and framework agreements with crane providers, hauliers, vessel brokers, and freight forwarders.
  • Manage quayside logistics scopes at mob and demob ports, ensuring safe and secure handling of cargo and focusing on cost optimisation within budgets.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to allow for logistics planning, continuously updating equipment schedules as project demands evolve.
  • Ensure timely customs clearance of cargo for all Export and Import shipments.
  • Develop a generic equipment shipping cost book for bid accuracy and provide logistics data to management to drive cost accuracy improvements.
Requirements:
  • Significant experience with freight/customs or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of shipping and charter party contract terms.
  • Knowledge of road, air, and sea freight shipping documentation including Incoterms and HS Codes.
  • Project experience in moving heavy cargo and out-of-gauge sea freight shipments preferred.
  • Competent in all Microsoft packages including Teams, Excel, SharePoint, and Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP).
