Advanced Practitioner in Acute Oncology

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the acute oncology team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust for an advanced practitioner role. The successful candidate will work 50% alongside a matron role, managing the acute oncology team and supporting patients with toxicities of treatment at Princess Royal Hospital.
Main Duties- Support clinical decisions regarding care in acute oncology and immunotherapy, demonstrating in-depth knowledge and competence in all aspects of cancer and its treatments.
- Develop and implement innovative ways of collaborating with the multi-disciplinary team to improve the care of emergency cancer patients.
- Provide expert guidance and support to nursing staff in the management of patients with acute oncology needs.
- Develop and establish clinically effective standards of specialist care, and initiate and develop protocols and guidelines to direct staff in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of effective specialist patient care.
- Work closely with cancer centres to ensure rapid specialist review of patients with cancer.

Person SpecificationEssential
- Registered Nurse
- Master's in nursing including advanced clinical practice skill set
- Experience in cancer nursing and SACT
- Cancer or Haematology Nursing Pathway or equivalent
