About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Support Worker to join our team at Solent NHS Trust. As a key member of our neuropsychiatric rehabilitation service, you will play a vital role in supporting patients with acquired brain injuries to rebuild their lives.

Main Responsibilities

As a Senior Support Worker, you will actively promote recovery-focussed care with patients, working in conjunction with other health professionals to achieve set goals. You will support patients with their rehabilitation and recovery, respecting their individual needs and rights.

You will facilitate and lead patient-focus groups and activities, using appropriate conflict resolution and management of aggression techniques to de-escalate challenging situations. You will also accurately assess, describe, and record observations on progress or change in patients' mental and physical state, escalating any concerns as appropriate.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with a GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent, and an NVQ or healthcare qualification at level 3. You will also need experience in working in a healthcare setting, particularly in an environment where clients demonstrate challenging behaviour. You must be able to undertake and pass Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA) training as required for the role.
