Project Overview: The development of sustainable rechargeable batteries at low cost is a pressing challenge in the field of clean and affordable energy. This project aims to address this challenge by developing defect engineered manganese-based electrodes with tailorable features for rechargeable zinc-air batteries (RZAB).

Key Responsibilities:

As a PhD researcher, you will be responsible for:

  1. Designing and conducting experiments to develop manganese-based RZAB cells.
  2. Collaborating with our experienced team of researchers to develop and evaluate innovative strategies to enhance RZAB development.
  3. Publishing research findings in high-impact scientific journals and presenting at international conferences.
Requirements and Qualifications:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong background in materials science, chemistry, physics, or a relevant discipline. The ideal candidate will have a first-class or 2.1 honours degree and excellent communication skills. Additionally, the candidate must be eligible for funding due to UK/EU candidate with "home fee status".
