Secure Service Development Opportunities
We are seeking an experienced Specialty Doctor to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Bierley and contribute to the development of secure services. As a full-time Specialty Doctor, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide high-quality treatment under the direction of a Consultant Psychiatrist.

About the Role
Our team provides a range of low-secure, specialist, and psychiatric intensive care services for men and women. This vacancy sits on Blossom Ward, which offers a safe and stabilizing environment for individuals experiencing acute mental illness. Our ethos is centered around assessing and treating service users in the least restrictive environment, planning for discharge, and supporting daily living skills.

Your Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality treatment under the direction of a Consultant Psychiatrist
* Assess referrals and undertake mental state examinations of service users
* Participate in weekly ward rounds and attend multidisciplinary meetings
* Attend Care Programme Approach and Section 117 meetings, as well as mental health review tribunals
* Ensure that medical decisions are implemented as planned
* Audit medical services and ensure compliance with GMC and other professional guidelines
* Uphold policies and procedures and contribute to service governance and development

Requirements and Qualifications
* Fully GMC registered and MBBS (or equivalent) qualified
* Experienced within a mental health setting
* Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Knowledgeable of mental health legislation and codes of practice
* Excellent clinical decision-maker with sound judgment and ability to manage risk
* First-rate communicator who can interview, assess, and treat patients and write clear, comprehensive medical notes
* Committed to continued professional development
