Job Summary:

LTF Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team at a dynamic Secondary School in Westminster. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and emotional development of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Support: Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, ensuring their academic progress and emotional wellbeing are prioritised.
  • IEP and BSP Development: Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) in collaboration with the wider educational team.
  • Targeted Interventions: Deliver targeted interventions, both one-on-one and in small groups, to address the specific needs of students.
  • Classroom Behaviour: Support teachers in managing classroom behaviour, promoting positive behaviour, and encouraging social interaction among students.
  • Lesson Modification: Work closely with teaching staff to modify and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the individual needs of students with SEMH challenges.
  • Emotional and Social Support: Provide emotional and social support to students, helping to cultivate a positive and supportive school experience.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience working with students with SEMH needs.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in education or a related field.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a team.
