Job Description

As a Clinical Psychologist, your primary responsibility will be to provide specialist psychological assessments and interventions to individuals with learning disabilities.

Key duties include:

  • Conducting assessments and formulating treatment plans for individuals with learning disabilities
  • Providing individual and group therapy sessions, as well as family and carer support
  • Collaborating with MDTs to share knowledge and expertise in learning disability psychology
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans that address complex needs and behaviors
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Doctoral level qualification in clinical psychology, including models of psychopathology and clinical psychometrics
  • Registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Experience of working with individuals with learning disabilities, including those with mental health needs and challenging behavior
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
