Clinical Research Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Research Nurse to join our team at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Research Nurse, you will play a key role in the management of clinical trials, working closely with clinical investigators, research nurses, and other members of the research team to ensure the smooth delivery of high-quality research services.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in critical care, with experience in the treatment of patients with specialty conditions such as ITU, Diabetes, and Cardiology. You will be responsible for managing a defined portfolio of studies and caseload of patients participating in research trials, ensuring that all trial documentation is completed to GCP standards and that all study site files are maintained to the highest standard.
You will also be expected to contribute to the development of the speciality service, manage performance and finance of trials, and ensure cost-effective use of resources. Additionally, you will play a key role in developing research awareness across the trust to all staff groups.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage studies in collaboration with existing research staff, acting as the main point of contact for participants and carrying out tasks including identifying patients who may be suitable for the trial, liaising with clinicians, and attending clinical team meetings.
- Work with investigators to recruit patients to trials where appropriate and manage performance of the study.

Person Specification
Essential
- Registered with the Health Professions Council or NMC.
- Awareness of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) clinical trial standards and the detailed trial-specific rules it provides for administration and record keeping.
- Computer literate with Microsoft Office software (including Word, Excel) and knowledge of research platform EDGE.
- Awareness of research design and methods, understanding of the analytical process.
- Relevant post-registration clinical experience in treatment of patients with specialty conditions where research is active such as ITU, Diabetes, Cardiology.
- Ability to collect and collate trial data and complete trial documentation, maintaining all study site files to GCP standards.
