About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to support our students with special educational needs at Cambian Lufton College.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be part of a committed team that provides a rich curriculum full of community and work experience opportunities, as well as functional skills, enrichment activities, and communication support.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their expertise in special educational needs and Autism, while working closely with Tutors to follow session plans and schemes of work within Education.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Support students to engage effectively in learning by utilising strategies from Positive Behaviour Support Plans, Communication Plans, and Sensory Diets.
  2. Work closely with Education staff to follow session plans and schemes of work, and report on student progress to inform future planning.
  3. Develop learning resources tailored to meet individual students' communication needs.
  4. Liaise with Education, Care, and Clinical staff to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to supporting student outcomes.
  5. Support students to engage in enrichment activities, including accessing local leisure facilities or day trips.

Requirements: An Enhanced DBS check and reference checking will be undertaken in line with government regulations and safer recruitment best practice.
