Special Education Teacher for Young Adults with Autism

About Lufton College
We are a specialist college providing quality care and education for young people between the ages of 16 and 25 with a diagnosis of autism, or whose difficulties place them on the autistic continuum.
Our students often have complex needs, associated learning difficulties and behaviours of concern. We deliver care and education with therapeutic approaches whilst incorporating opportunities for staff and students to experience the fun side of life.

Main Responsibilities
- To create and follow high-quality and ambitious curriculum plans, from long-term curriculum overviews to individualised schemes of work
- To create high-quality session plans, demonstrating effective differentiation to meet diverse students' needs
- You will be expected to act as a personal tutor to a small group of students, supporting them to achieve EHCP outcomes related to independent living skills, personal resilience and engagement in learning
- We deliver care and education with therapeutic approaches whilst incorporating opportunities for staff and students to experience the fun side of life

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience
