Experienced Operations Manager

We are seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic Plant Manager to join our UK team based in Deeside, UK.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations, including supply chain, production, quality, maintenance, facilities, continuous improvement, EHS, and customer experience at the Deeside Manufacturing site.
You will lead and inspire local departmental managers and the wider operations team to foster a culture of sustainable and continuous improvement.
This role is critical in enabling the company to execute its operational strategy, continuous improvement plans, and long-term growth strategy.
Main Responsibilities- Ensure optimal return and service levels across Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Inventory.
- Identify opportunities to deliver operational excellence initiatives and investments aimed at reducing costs while improving efficiencies and customer service.
- Lead, manage, and motivate the operations team to deliver consistently high standards of safety, product quality, operational excellence, and customer service.
- Develop and execute the manufacturing strategy to maximize operational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Commercial, Purchasing, Product Management, and Quality teams to resolve issues affecting customer service and performance.
- Inspire manufacturing teams to challenge existing processes and implement sound solutions.
- Minimize costs through optimal utilization of materials, plant, equipment, staff, and consumable purchases.
- Manage budget planning and development, monitoring progress throughout the year.
- A degree in Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, or equivalent.
- A proven track record of leading and implementing improvement projects.
- Knowledge of various manufacturing processes and materials used in the metal processing industry.
- Previous experience and knowledge of wire forming and strip steel stamping are desirable.
- A good understanding of ERP and ideally SAP.
- Demonstrable Operations Management experience of running a successful high-volume manufacturing operation.
- The ability to challenge conventional methodology and deliver new ways of working in a culture of continuous improvement.
