Job Title: SEMH Year 5 Class Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced teacher to lead a Year 5 class at a special school in the Bath area. The school caters to students with Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs (SEMH) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

About the Role

This is a full-time, long-term teaching position with full teaching responsibilities. You will be expected to plan and mark your own lessons, with adequate time provided for Professional Planning and Assessment (PPA) on Fridays.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with SEMH or ASD students and be confident in managing challenging behavior. You will be supported by two Teaching Assistants and will be expected to lead and develop their skillsets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a Year 5 class with SEMH and ASD students
  • Plan and mark your own lessons
  • Manage challenging behavior and de-escalate situations
  • Develop and lead the skills of two Teaching Assistants
