About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SEMH Teacher to lead a Year 5 class at a reputable Special School in the Bath area. As a key member of the school's teaching team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to students with Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs (SEMH) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a Year 5 class with the support of 2 Teaching Assistants (TAs)
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, ensuring a stimulating and inclusive learning environment
  • Monitor and assess student progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to support individual needs
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and develop a cohesive approach to SEMH education
  • Contribute to the school's pastoral care and behavior management systems, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all students
Requirements
  • Proven experience in teaching SEMH or ASD students, with a strong understanding of their needs and challenges
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students and colleagues alike
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meeting the needs of the school and its students
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
