About the Role

Ruskin Mill Trust is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our committed day time support team at Ruskin Mill College. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing holistic support to our students, focusing on their emotional, social, and educational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to students, promoting their independence and self-confidence.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Contribute to the creation of a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to identify and address student needs.
  • Participate in training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Strong desire to support young people and promote their wellbeing.
  • Excellent observational skills and ability to problem-solve and think creatively.
  • Patience, caring, and compassionate nature, with a young person-centered approach.
  • Ability to manage emotionally challenging situations with emotional intelligence and resilience.
  • Experience of support work in educational and residential settings.
  • NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification (desirable).
