Electrical Design Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Compass Point Recruitment Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for machines from scratch.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and develop electrical systems for machines, including safety systems and electrical cabinets.
  2. Originate all electrical drawings and support the build of electrical cabinets.
  3. Participate in build and run-up testing of machines and support build and commissioning teams with electrical fault diagnosis.
  4. Assist controls engineer on commissioning activities and ensure electrical safety, risk assessments, and standards compliance.
  5. Originate electrical BOMs and have a solid understanding of UKCA/CE marking, PUWER, and machine certification.
Requirements:
  1. Electrical or mechatronic qualification, minimum foundation degree, HNC, HND, or degree in an applicable discipline.
  2. SolidWorks electrical experience is advantageous.
  3. Minimum 5 years of experience in designing electrical systems for machines from scratch.
  4. Good general computer skills and ability to work in a team environment.
