Teaching Professional for SEN Pupils

We require a dedicated teaching professional to provide individualized tuition to young people with Special Educational Needs who cannot access mainstream education. As an SEN tutor, you will create and deliver tailored lessons to bridge educational gaps and improve attainment levels.

The successful candidate will support pupils who struggle in the classroom, are anxious about school or have unmet needs at their current educational setting. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced teachers or tutors to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people with SEN.

Our tutors work closely with us to monitor progress and submit regular reports to ensure each pupil receives the best possible support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, plan and deliver one-to-one tailored lessons to bridge gaps in pupils' education and boost attainment levels.
  • Support and re-engage pupils in their learning, offering structure back into their daily routine and continuing their educational development.
  • Return pupils to school when they are able to reintegrate into a mainstream or special school.

Contract/Position Details:

Type of work: Contract

Duration: Until the pupil is able to reintegrate into a mainstream/special school

Contract type: Temporary

Full-time/part-time: Part time (a minimum of 6 hours per week, per student)

Salary: £27+ per hour

Requirements:

  • QTS or equivalent
  • UK classroom teaching experience or experience working with SEN children in a care environment
  • Experience supporting young people with SEN - essential
  • Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
  • Have experience working with challenging behaviour and disengaged pupils
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child-related references
