Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at Beacon Support. As a Specialist Disability Mentor, you will work closely with Higher Education students who require one-to-one support due to disabilities or mental health conditions.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) in higher or further education and possess excellent communication and organisational skills. You will also need to be flexible to adapt to the changing needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide highly specialised support to students with disabilities/mental health conditions
  • Assist students to learn coping strategies and techniques
  • Work with a dynamic CPD programme with regular training events

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of students
  • Experience of working with students with specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) in higher or further education

Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive hourly rate of £30-£40, plus generous holiday entitlement. Additionally, we provide a company pension scheme and other benefits.
