Role Overview
Citizens Advice Shropshire is seeking a highly skilled Empowerment Lead - SEND Information Service to join their team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Shropshire SEND IASS service, providing information, advice, and support to children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and their families.
- Deliver information, advice, and support through various channels, including one-to-one support, group work, and community outreach.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of SEND, social care, and health services to provide accurate and informed support.
- Work closely with the CEO and other stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of the SENDIASS service.
Requirements
- Experience of working in a SEND or related field, with a strong understanding of SEND legislation and policies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, young people, and their families.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to workload and deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex information and make informed decisions.
