We are a successful multi-disciplinary consultancy with 13 offices across the UK, employing around 500 staff, including approximately 60 full-time ecologists. Our business thrives on the expertise and dedication of our team members, who work closely with clients to deliver innovative solutions to complex problems.

The Opportunity:

To meet growing demand, we seek an experienced senior or principal ecologist to join our Head Office in Stoke-on-Trent, where a well-established team of 12 ecologists already excels.

In this challenging role, you will:

  1. Oversee and support project delivery;
  2. Develop and present project proposals;
  3. Mentor junior staff in the field, fostering their growth and development;
  4. Lead protected species surveys, ensuring compliance with regulations;
  5. Analyse and interpret survey data, identifying key findings and recommendations;
  6. Design effective protected species mitigation strategies and prepare necessary licenses;
  7. Contribute to complex technical reports, including Ecological Impact Assessments and Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments;
  8. Enhance project/financial management skills, driving business growth;
  9. Receive training to advance your career in ecology.

As the ideal candidate, you will:

  1. Hold at least four years of continuous experience within ecological consultancy;
  2. Possess a degree in ecology or a related field;
  3. Be eligible for 'associate member' status, or higher, of CIEEM;
  4. Demonstrate excellent teamwork skills, working effectively with colleagues;
  5. Hold a full UK driving license.

Estimated salary range: £55,000 - £70,000 depending on experience.
