Apprenticeships at Kepak

We are seeking two Engineering Apprentices to join our team at our Kirkham factory in Lancashire. As an apprentice, you will be supported by a mentor and will have the opportunity to complete a Level 3 Engineering apprenticeship while earning a salary.

Job Description

This role involves carrying out effective Planned Preventative Maintenance, maintenance and rectification works, and making continual improvements to plant and equipment. You will also be responsible for keeping workshops, plant rooms, and engineering storage areas to a high standard, and for keeping workshop tools and equipment serviceable and clean.

You will work as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives, and will be responsible for highlighting any additional spare parts required to carry out tasks. You will also report any risks or evidence of unsafe or out of specification product, equipment, packaging, or raw materials to a designated manager.

Learning Opportunities

As an apprentice, you will learn about mathematical techniques, mechanical, electrical, electronic, fluid power, and process control principles in a mechatronics maintenance environment. You will also learn about fault diagnostic methods, condition monitoring methods, and how to minimise machinery downtime.

Requirements

We are looking for reliable and hardworking individuals who are committed to completing the four-year apprenticeship programme. You should have a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and be willing to learn at all times. You should also be flexible in your approach to work and have a real interest in Engineering and problem-solving.
