Job Description

Job Title: Academic Leader for Childcare and Health Studies

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Academic Leader to join our team and lead our Childcare and Health Studies programmes. The successful candidate will have a strong background in teaching and assessing childcare and health-related subjects, and will be able to provide academic tutorial support to students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment activities for Level 3 Childcare, Level 3 Health & Social Care, and Access to Nursing and Midwifery programmes.
  • Contribute to the development of the curriculum, with a focus on employer engagement and learner skills development.
  • Act as a Course Leader and Academic Tutor, providing academic tutorial support to students and contributing to the school community.
  • Identify opportunities for employment and skills-focused study for learners and seek ways to improve performance by reflecting on teaching design and delivery.
  • Contribute to the school's commitment to equality of opportunity and safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.

Requirements:

  • Qualified to degree level as a minimum in Childcare and Education, Early Years, Health and Social Care, Nursing, or another relevant subject.
  • Experience of teaching Level 3 Childcare, Level 3 Health & Social Care, and Access to HE in an FE College, School, or private provider.
  • A successful record of tutoring and supporting learners and of setting and implementing target setting, monitoring, and reviewing progress.
