Job Title: Senior Product Safety Specialist

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience. Estimated annual salary range is £55,000 - £75,000.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead Product Safety hazard and risk identification, management, and assessment activities to mitigate potential risks.
  • Oversee the administration and management of the Project Hazard Log to track and monitor hazards and risks.
  • Complete peer reviews, checking, verification and assurance tasks to demonstrate the adequacy and robustness of the Safety Case and supporting documentation.
  • Understand the application of wider Safety Case, Quality and Management System documentation to ensure alignment with company policies.
  • Influence the construction and delivery of the Project Safety Case including Safety Case reports to support business decisions.
  • Produce, present and articulate clear and logical technical safety arguments to stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support and oversight to the assessment and quantification of functional integration risk to ensure safe and reliable products.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of HAZOP/HAZIN/FTA to identify and assess potential hazards and risks.
  • Experience in the use of Safety Management Systems (SMS) to implement and maintain safety protocols.
  • STEM Degree or equivalent experience to provide a solid foundation in safety principles.

You will be working with a team of people from principals to apprentices, liaising with operational managers, heads of departments. This role offers exposure to the Wider Control Damage Hazards team whilst individually being given the opportunity for professional growth within the function.
