About the Role


We are seeking an experienced Senior Human Factors Engineer to join our team in Coventry. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in optimising operator performance and improving operability across various systems.



Job Overview

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a highly skilled Human Factors Engineer to make a real impact on our submarine programmes. With a strong focus on delivering results-driven solutions, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and address design issues, streamline workflows, and enhance user interaction.



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the analysis and assessment of workload and situation awareness to optimise operator performance through design enhancements
  • Develop and conduct user trials to evaluate developing designs and improve user interaction
  • Apply human reliability analysis and human factors expertise to support safety cases
  • Work collaboratively with designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate human-centred design principles into system development


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • Degree-qualified in Human Factors/Ergonomics or a related field (e.g., Psychology, Industrial Design)
  • Proven experience in mentoring and coaching others
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with complex engineering projects and their associated challenges
  • A Chartered engineer status or progression towards it


Benefits

You will enjoy a competitive salary of £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on your experience.
