Role Overview

A Learning Support Assistant is required by Academics Ltd to work with children who have diverse needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, sensory processing disorders, physical disabilities, and communication challenges. This role provides a fantastic opportunity for a Psychology Graduate to gain experience and kickstart their career.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic individual with a solid understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN). Any previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential.

This position offers a unique chance to support students with complex needs and help them feel safe and supported in school. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will learn about the cognitive, behavioral, and emotional needs of each student and implement strategies to address these needs. You will also have the opportunity to network with Psychologists and Therapists based at the school.

Job Description

The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 15:30, supporting students in a specialist environment. This role involves helping students identify triggers and barriers to learning, implementing psychological theory in the classroom, and creating a fun and engaging learning space.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you should be a friendly and nurturing individual with a positive attitude. A solid understanding of SEN is essential, and any previous experience working with children is desirable. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively as part of a team and communicate effectively with staff and parents.
