Job Title: Head of Digital Accessibility and Inclusion

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our digital accessibility and inclusion efforts. As Head of Digital Accessibility and Inclusion, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy to ensure that our digital platforms are accessible and inclusive for all users.

About the Role:

This is a 6-month contract based in London/Swindon (Hybrid - 2 days in a week) with our client, a well-known building society. As a key member of their team, you will work closely with stakeholders to identify and address digital accessibility gaps, develop training programs, and provide expertise to ensure that all digital platforms meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide consulting support to teams responsible for digital touchpoints across the society on what is required to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
  2. Ensure that all digital platforms have been consistently accredited on a regular basis through our partnerships with the Digital Accessibility Centre and AbilityNet.
  3. Help create a business case to fix any non-compliant areas, getting buy-in from senior stakeholders including finance for its prioritisation and approval.
  4. Provide expertise in ensuring that the society has all of the skills and techniques to confidently design and build accessible and inclusive digital experiences.
  5. Provide thought leadership on the next steps that the society could take to evolve its digital inclusion strategy and maturity.
  6. Demonstrable experience of leading, shaping and delivering a Digital Accessibility programme, embedding WCAG 2.1 AA standards into all digital touchpoints.
  7. Financial services experience ideally, or private sector experience.

This client will only accept workers operating via an Umbrella or PAYE engagement model.
