Job Overview

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Lifelong Learning and Community Engagement Specialist. About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic professional who is passionate about lifelong learning and community engagement. As a Lifelong Learning and Community Engagement Specialist, you will play a key role in developing and delivering programs that promote literacy, numeracy, and digital skills, as well as supporting our communities to build strong, healthy, and vibrant communities.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

1. Developing and delivering programs that promote lifelong learning and community engagement

2. Working closely with our communities to understand their needs and develop targeted initiatives to support them

3. Collaborating with our team to deliver high-quality public services and achieve our organizational goals

4. Building strong relationships with our stakeholders, including community groups, local businesses, and other key partners

5. Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of our programs and making recommendations for improvement

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. A strong understanding of lifelong learning and community engagement principles and practices

2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders

3. Proven experience of developing and delivering programs that promote lifelong learning and community engagement

4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data to inform program development and evaluation

5. A commitment to delivering high-quality public services and achieving our organizational goals
