About the Role
NHS Resolution is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Obstetrician to join our team as a National Obstetric Clinical Fellow. This is a unique opportunity to work at a national level and contribute to improving outcomes in maternity care.
Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will lead and manage the workload for a region in England, reviewing case files and providing feedback on how to best learn from claims to prevent future harm. Additional responsibilities include leading on a project within the organisation, representing NHS Resolution at external meetings with key stakeholders in maternity care, and working with the EN family liaison and mediation lead and wider team to support the development of the scheme.
About NHS Resolution
NHS Resolution is an Arms Length Body of the Department of Health & Social Care. Our purpose is to provide expertise to the NHS to resolve concerns fairly, share learning for improvement, and preserve resources for patients. We have four key service areas: Claims Management, Practitioner Performance Advice, Primary Care Appeals, and Safety and Learning.
What We Offer
We strive to be an employer of choice, offering access to the NHS Pension Scheme, a minimum of 27 days Annual Leave, and flexible working arrangements. We also offer opportunities for skill development and training, with regular reviews and a clear plan to support employees in reaching their full potential.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of current issues and challenges within healthcare, as well as some knowledge of quality improvement and safety improvement work. They will also have previous experience in co-ordination or management, either at undergraduate or postgraduate level, within or outside healthcare. A speciality knowledge of working within or detailed knowledge of obstetrics is essential, along with full registration with a relevant professional body and a minimum of five years' post-qualification experience.
How to Apply
Please submit your application via the NHS Jobs online application form. We particularly encourage applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic and disabled candidates. We have been granted permission to use the Employment Service's "Positive about Disabled People" symbol, and any applicant with a disability who meets the minimum specification for the post is guaranteed an interview.
