National Obstetric Clinical Specialist

NHS Resolution is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Obstetrician to join our team as a National Obstetric Clinical Fellow. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to improving outcomes in maternity care and make a significant impact on the health and well-being of mothers and babies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a region in England, reviewing case files and providing feedback on how to learn from claims and prevent future harm.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve safety and reduce legal costs related to maternity services.
- Represent NHS Resolution at external meetings with key stakeholders in maternity care, promoting our work and expertise.
- Lead presentations and projects within the organization, driving innovation and improvement in maternity care.
- Collaborate with the EN family liaison and mediation lead and wider team to support the development of the Early Notification scheme.

NHS Resolution is an Arms Length Body of the Department of Health & Social Care, providing expertise to the NHS to resolve concerns fairly, share learning for improvement, and preserve resources for patients. Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Specialist knowledge of working within obstetrics.
- Full registration with a relevant professional body.
- Minimum training level or experience five years post-qualification (ST5 and above or equivalent).
- Masters-level degree or equivalent level of study/experience.
- Satisfactory progression through training, as evidenced by satisfactory outcomes in appraisals, ARCP, revalidations, and relevant specialty examinations, including MRCOG.
