Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work with a group of mainstream schools, delivering outreach interventions to students on a 1:1 or small group basis.

  • Develop and implement a programme of interventions to support students with complex needs referred for Tier 1 support.
  • Provide guidance and advice to students and staff in mainstream schools.
  • Agree with the school on the focus of the intervention and the timescales for work.
  • Establish positive relationships with students, modelling the school's expectations.
  • Support students in managing their behaviour in a relational, trauma-informed way.
  • Visit schools, gather information, and complete visit notes for new referrals.
  • Maintain accurate records of work undertaken, sharing assessment and progress information with the school weekly.
  • Complete an end-of-intervention report for the school, providing recommendations for implementation.
  • Attend multi-professional meetings, including EHC reviews, PEP meetings, and team-around-the-child meetings.
About You

You should have significant experience working with children and young people with complex needs in a classroom environment. Knowledge of SEMH interventions is essential. The role requires ability to remain calm under pressure, teamwork skills, and the willingness to work collaboratively and independently.
