Job Title: Procurement Officer

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Officer to join our client, a local government organisation, as part of their Strategic Procurement Service. The successful candidate will work closely with the team to support or lead tender activity, providing specialist support or analytical services to the team or its customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain critical relationships with commissioners, outcome managers, project managers, and other support services to achieve superior outcomes.
  • Provide informed advice to commissioners and other clients to ensure customer outcomes and value for money requirements are met or exceeded.
  • Undertake market and supplier research to inform the development of commissioning and commercial thinking.
  • Lead or support discreet procurement projects and attend project/review board meetings as required.
  • Assess and maximise Social Value through work activities.
  • Ensure effective communication and engagement with stakeholders and partners, including external suppliers.
  • Assess and manage risks associated with each activity.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant policy and legislative changes.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements and policies.
  • Develop and implement a procurement strategy that describes procurement findings and recommended approach.

Requirements:

  • Good all-round public sector experience, preferably within Adults.
  • Experience in a procurement or commissioning environment.
  • Knowledge of procurement regulations and contract law, risk management, and contract management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and partners.

Working Hours: 09:00am - 17:00pm, Monday - Friday

Pay: £286.93 per day

IR35 Status: Within the scope of IR35
