About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Receptionist/Administrator to join our team at Brockenhurst College. As a key member of our New Milton Area Adult Learning and Skills programme, you will provide exceptional customer service and administrative support to our students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide efficient and effective customer service, responding to telephone, personal, and postal enquiries, and referring requests for course information as needed.
  • Assist students, staff, and visitors with queries and concerns, demonstrating a high level of customer care and empathy.
  • Ensure the Reception and office areas are well-stocked with information and maintained to a high standard of tidiness and organization.
  • Provide administrative support for the Centre, including special projects, liaising with staff, tutors, students, and external organizations.
  • Assist with the preparation of notices, posters, and displays, and maintain accurate records of student, staff, and financial data.
  • Undertake general office duties, including filing, distribution of mail, and preparation of outgoing correspondence.
  • Carry out enrolment procedures, including cashier duties, and assist with the processing of contracts, registers, and quality assurance documents.
  • Assist with the maintenance of equipment and associated records, and attend training events and staff meetings as required.
Requirements:
  • GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • A minimum of two years' experience in an office environment, dealing with the general public
  • Experience of assisting diverse individuals with varying needs
  • Competent computer skills, including Word, Excel, Presentation, Outlook, and Internet research
  • Able to demonstrate customer care skills, telephone and reception skills, and the ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work well as part of a team
