Job Title: Vehicle Technician Trainer

At Babcock International Group, we're working to create a safe and secure world, together. As a Vehicle Technician Trainer, you'll play a vital role in delivering technical courses to military students of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME).

The Role

You'll join a team of talented training professionals who are passionate about developing the skills of our students. Your role will involve preparing relevant training material, collaborating with the Media and Graphics Department to create engaging Initial Trade Training material, and maintaining a Continuous Personal Development (CPD) portfolio to ensure lesson plans and training sessions are up-to-date and effective.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing training material and collaborating with the Media and Graphics Department to create engaging Initial Trade Training material
  • Maintaining a CPD portfolio to ensure lesson plans and training sessions are up-to-date and effective
  • Reviewing course material and content to ensure it's current and evolving to support equipment and technology advances
  • Assessing trainees through written examinations, practical assessments, and continuous assessments
  • Ensuring trainee development through monitoring, feedback, appraisal, discipline, and training interventions

Requirements

  • Vehicle Technician background
  • Strong team player with ability to work with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Organised, great time management, and proactive manner
  • Clear and effective communication - written and verbal
  • Knowledge of vehicle inspection processes (MEI/MOT) desirable
  • Strong IT literacy skills

Qualifications

  • Minimum City & Guilds Part 3/NVQ L3 or Apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance (Heavy or Light automotive vehicle, plant machinery) or equivalent military qualifications
  • No previous training experience required - we'll develop you into the role, and provide full training and funding to gain a Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training during the probation period

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
