About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician Trainer to join our team at Babcock International Group. As a Vehicle Technician Trainer, you will play a critical role in delivering technical training to military students of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME).

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver high-quality training programs for Vehicle Technicians, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to maintain and repair complex military vehicles.
  • Collaborate with the Media and Graphics Department to create relevant training materials, including Initial Trade Training materials.
  • Maintain a Continuous Personal Development (CPD) portfolio, ensuring lesson plans and training sessions are developed in accordance with approved Learner Specifications, Course specifications, and Course Training Plans.
  • Assess trainees through written examinations, progress tests, practical assessments, and continuous assessments, marking examination papers and setting and marking course and homework.
  • Monitor trainee development, providing feedback, appraisal, discipline, and training interventions, ensuring all supporting documentation is maintained and any special trainee developmental needs or training delays are flagged to the Lead Trainer.

Requirements

  • Vehicle Technician background with strong technical knowledge and experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Organized and proactive, with strong time management skills.
  • Strong IT literacy skills and knowledge of vehicle inspection processes (MEI/MOT).
  • Minimum City & Guilds Part 3/NVQ L3 or Apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance (Heavy or Light automotive vehicle, plant machinery) or equivalent military qualifications.
