University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Intensive Care Specialist to join our Critical Care team. This full-time role offers the opportunity to develop clinical and leadership skills in a busy tertiary referral ICU environment.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in Critical Care Medicine, with advanced airway skills, including intubation of critically ill patients. They will also be able to site invasive lines and demonstrate good clinical judgment. The ability to participate as a key member of the cardiac arrest team and understand audit and governance processes are essential requirements for this position.

We are looking for a hard-working, self-motivated and organised doctor who wants to increase their experience in a tertiary ICU environment while developing their own career. The ideal candidate will have completed specialist skills courses, such as difficult airways, ATLS/APLS, ultrasound course, etc., and designed and/or completed audits.

In addition to the clinical experience and training, there are opportunities to develop projects and skills in numerous areas, including Critical Care Echocardiography, ECMO and Severe Acute Respiratory Failure, Simulation Facilitation and Education, Clinical Research, Quality Improvement and Leadership & Management. 20% of the role is non-clinical and this will allow time for a project to be developed with the support and mentorship of members of the Consultant group.

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior trainee in Intensive Care Medicine to gain experience at senior level in a busy city-centre hospital while developing their CV and skills. The units are busy tertiary referral ICUs providing a wide range of different services and based in a thriving city-centre hospital.

The salary for this role is estimated to be £70,425 per annum pro rata. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including a pension scheme and opportunities for professional development.
