About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical CAD Engineer to join our highly focused and passionate team responsible for delivering electrical and electronic engineering across the business.

The successful candidate will report into the Lead EDS Engineer and will be part of a team that ensures all new JCB product programs meet the required technical deliverables within the specified timeframe.

As an Electrical CAD Engineer, you will be responsible for the concept, design, development, and deployment of new electrical and electronic systems into the Excavator product range.

Key Responsibilities
  • Translate customer requirements into clear and concise deliverables
  • Select the correct hardware platform to meet technical and cost targets
  • Develop prototype solutions to validate proof of concept ideas
  • Create a drawing release plan to meet project timing and requirements
  • Coordinate with vendors to release new components
  • Read and interpret electronic schematic diagrams and electrical wiring diagrams
  • Work with industry-standard development techniques
  • Coordinate parts and ensure the latest design revisions are reviewed
  • Maintain accurate records of designs, revisions, and updates
  • Drive re-use of components and approaches
  • Support cause and effect analysis, risk assessments, and FMEA
About You
  • HND/Degree level in electronic or software technology discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience in Tier 1 or OE sectors with CAD
  • Experience with ECN release and checking to drive consistent standards
  • Experience with Siemens Teamcentre and parts release
  • Comfortable working with electronic lab tools and serial tools
  • Good understanding of design verification processes
  • Ability to read and digest complex information
