As an Electrical CAD Systems Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying new electrical and electronic systems into our Excavator product range. You will support the definition, interpretation, and development of customer and system level requirements into a CAD environment.

This role involves architecture design across multiple products, with a focus on rationalization and commonality while pushing new technologies and feature content to enhance and satisfy customer requirements.

You will provide technical support to the delivery of system design, owning the delivery of harnesses and related electrical/electronic components from concept through to SOP and beyond. Additionally, you will be responsible for driving consistent standards of harness routing and parts release, liaising with the India team to deliver electrical components and assemblies.

We welcome applications from candidates with strong CAD backgrounds, including mechanical engineers who can translate their skills to electrical engineering.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Translate customer requirements into clear and concise deliverables
  • Select hardware platforms to deliver technical solutions, considering environmental and cost targets
  • Develop prototype solutions to validate proof of concept ideas in a fast-paced agile environment
  • Create drawing release plans to satisfy project timing and requirements
  • Coordinate 3rd party support vendors when releasing new components
  • Read electronic schematic diagrams and electrical wiring diagram counterparts
  • Work inline with industry standard development techniques, such as clipping and harness bend radius
  • Help coordinate parts to support builds, ensuring latest design revisions are appraised at the earliest opportunity
  • Maintain sound record-keeping techniques for designs, revisions, and updates
  • Drive re-use of components and approaches
  • Support cause and effect analysis, risk assessments, FMEA, 8D, Ishikawa/fishbone

We offer a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a company pension scheme, medical insurance, dental care schemes, access to our healthy living centre, and 33 days annual leave.
