Development Underwriter - Property Owners

Lawes Insurance Recruitment is seeking a skilled Development Underwriter with expertise in Property Owners to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct thorough analysis and evaluation of property owners insurance risks to determine potential profitability.
  2. Underwrite new and renewal property owners business within designated authority levels, ensuring adherence to underwriting guidelines.
  3. Develop and maintain productive relationships with brokers and clients, fostering a collaborative environment.
  4. Engage with brokers and clients to gather necessary information for underwriting, ensuring accurate and informed decisions.
  5. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure underwriting guidelines are followed, promoting a culture of excellence.
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and market developments, applying this knowledge to make informed underwriting decisions.
  7. Provide exceptional customer service and support to clients and brokers, exceeding expectations.

Requirements:

  1. 3+ years of underwriting experience with a focus on property owners, demonstrating a strong understanding of underwriting principles.
  2. Strong knowledge of property owners underwriting guidelines and practices, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a dynamic environment.
  3. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to evaluate complex risks and make informed decisions.
  4. Effective communication and negotiation abilities, with a strong focus on building relationships and resolving issues.
  5. Cert CII preferred but not a requirement, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development.
